Ghaziabad-based retired engineer accuses IPS officer of harassing daughter, DGP orders probe

LUCKNOW: Hours after a retired government officer took to social media to complain that an Inspector General of police-rank officer posted is harassing his daughter by making calls at odd hours, Director General of Police (DGP) Mukul Goel ordered a probe into the allegations.

Additional Director General (ADG) PAC Ajay Anand has been asked to conduct a probe and submit a detailed report within seven days.

The complainant, in a series of tweets, accused the IG, an IPS of 97 batch, of calling his daughter in late hours from different numbers and threatening her, He urged the government to take action against him. He tagged UP CM, IPS association, DGP UP, and IAS association in the tweets.

The DGP took cognisance of the tweet and instructed the ADG PAC to probe the matter.

Sources said the complainant was a retired engineer and resident of Ghaziabad but has not given a written complaint to the district police.
