GHAZIABAD: Three men have been arrested in connection with two different murder cases in Ghaziabad's Muradnagar area, said officials on Saturday.
In the first case, a 25-year-old youth was arrested for allegedly killing a 30-year-old man with a brick and throwing the body in a drain. The body was found on Thursday evening following which the accused was arrested. Police said the youth Deepak is a native of Meerut and had been living with his family in Ukhlarsi village of Muradnagar in rented accommodation for the past two years.
"On Thursday evening, we received information about a body lying unattended in the forest area of Hisali in Muradnagar. There were injury marks on the head and it seemed someone had attacked him with a heavy object. The victim was identified as Dilip, a resident of Kasba area," said Satish Kumar, the SHO of Muradnagar police station.
Subsequently, Deepak was caught from near Dedha flyover. During questioning, he revealed that on July 11 the victim had misbehaved with his uncle and was also keeping a wrong eye on his wife. The next day, Deepak invited Dilip to drink with him. "After drinking when the two were crossing Hisali forest in the area an argument ensued between the two. Deepak then handed him his beer as well," said the SHO.
As Dilip started drinking, Deepak pushed him and he fell. Dilip then picked up a brick and smashed his head with it two to three times. He then pushed the body into a drain and fled.
In the second case, two men were arrested for allegedly killing a 19-year-old youth after an argument broke out between one of the accused and the deceased Ghufraan.
"Faizaan, one of the accused and Ghufraan were present at a soft drink shop when both hit each other accidentally and an argument ensued. Later, Faizaan's father and brother came at the spot and beat up Ghufraan. They later stabbed him to death," added Kumar.
