Ghana World Cup 2026 squad: Otto Addo's latest selection ahead of the March international break

Ghana World Cup 2026 squad: Mohammed Kudus playing for Ghana.

Ghana take on Austria and Germany this month in their preparations for the World Cup this summer.

The Black Stars qualified for World Cup 2026 at a canter but are set to encounter much trickier squads in the tournament than they did in qualifying.

They're in the middle pack when it comes to favourites for lifting the trophy, but with a host of top Premier League stars in their ranks, they must not be written off.

Ghana got to the quarter-finals in 2010, but since then have been unable to get out of the groups, and they failed to qualify entirely for the 2018 edition.

But in Antoine Semenyo and Mohammed Kudus, they have two players regarded among the best attackers in the Premier League, along with an experienced captain in Jordan Ayew.

They will be without both Kudus and Ayew for these two friendlies, however, with the former having been out with a thigh injury since January.

In Kamaldeen Sulemana and Abdul Fatawu, however, they have two developing talents who may benefit from some high-profile attackers missing, to prove themselves against tough opposition ahead of this summer's tournament.

Manager

Who is Ghana's manager?

Otto Addo is in his second stint in charge of the Black Stars. He was in charge at the last World Cup, where they won one of their three group games and failed to progress to the knockout rounds.

His second spell in charge of his nation has been far more successful than the first. He lost five of his 12 games in charge in 2022, with just a 33.3% win rate, but has drastically improved that this time out, hitting a 58% win rate.

He has also spent time at Borussia Dortmund, as both a talent coach and assistant.

Antoine Semenyo has lit up the Premier League in the last 18 months. The new Manchester City signing excelled under Adoni Iraola at Bournemouth and has kicked on immediately at the Etihad.

In the Premier League this season, he's scored 15 goals and recorded four assists for the two clubs, and has been one of the league's best players throughout. The Sky Blues reportedly paid £64m for his services, in a move that's already looking good value.

It will be 12 years since Ghana reached the quarter-finals of the 2014 World Cup and were cruelly denied a place in the semi-finals, but with Semenyo in the side, there will be a renewed sense of optimism as they travel to north America.
