Ghana newspaper cleared of libel

The high court in Accra has exonerated the publishers and senior editors of the Ghana newspaper Daily Guide who were sued for libel by the country's former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings. The court ruled that the paper was acting in the public interest by informing the public, in July last year, that a company owned by Konadu owed considerable debts to the state.
