It's no secret that being a working parent is tough, but a new study has shown just hard it can be.
The research was carried out by Kellogs has revealed that getting your kids ready for school is the same as working an extra day in the office every week.
The figures are based on the morning routines of 2,000 working parents.
Getting kids out of bed in the morning is no easy task - and it's hard enough to get yourself out of the comfort of your bed for the most part.
However, with a long list of tasks to complete before you even leave the house like brushing teeth and hair, making breakfasts, packing lunches and getting ready for the rest of the day it can be completely exhausting.
In fact, the average parent completes 43 tasks before starting their 9am shift in work. It also showed that the average parent woke up at 6:01am.
It's no surprise that most parents felt as though they had a full day in work completed by the time it was 11am.
A spokesman for Kellogs said that parents “are packing a whole additional working day every week on top of their 9-5 jobs”.
Eight out of 10 of those surveyed also admitted to not eating enough breakfast or skipping it entirely to ensure that they have everything ready before dropping the kids to school.
Life for modern parents has never looked busier as the busy morning routine amounts to an additional 10 hours and 15 minutes of work every week.
