Samba Sow's return to the Nottingham Forest matchday squad was heralded by supporters ahead of Wednesday night’s City Ground clash with Bristol City.
The influential 31-year last played in the 2-2 draw at West Brom in February having been sidelined through injury, and boss Sabri Lamouchi named him on the bench.
Ryan Yates came off the bench on Sunday to score Forest’s third in the 3-1 win over Huddersfield, and he got the nod from Lamouchi to come into the midfield where he replaced another youngster, Brennan Johnson.
Yates’ inclusion would allow forward-thinking Tiago Silva to push further forward and play in the number 10 role in behind Lewis Grabban.
Wednesday night’s encounter with play-off rivals Bristol City arrives in the middle of a busy week for Forest, following their important win at the weekend.
Following the clash with the Robins, Lamouchi’s Reds face Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday lunchtime, looking to secure their third victory over the Rams this season, and in the process, dent their arch-rivals’ hopes of gate-crashing the top six – and Sow’s inclusion hasn’t been lost on some supporters who are already eying the derby.
