The Guardian Global Development Professionals Network and Unicef are hosting a morning seminar on Thursday 22 September to check in on progress a year after the UN set the sustainable development goals.
The first panel discussion gets into the detail and asks how the 17 goals and 169 targets can be achieved. Are governments cherry picking goals and targets? What have the panelists learned about the challenges of implementing the goals over the past 12 months? And how can the goals be implemented in the context of global challenges such as climate change, mass migration of refugees and stagnant economies? Chair Guardian writer Eliza Anyangwe will put all these questions to the panel and more, but she also wants to hear from you.
Registration for the event is now closed, but for those who can’t make the event in person, we will be taking a selection of questions from readers via the comment section below. If you would like to pose a question to the panel, please post it there. You can also follow the conversation on Twitter on the day using the hashtag #Dev2030.
A podcast of the panel discussions and keynote talks will be released soon after the event. To be sure you don’t miss it, become a member of the Global Development Professionals Network.
