'Getting out of India such a big deal': Woman celebrating UK visa approval gets hate online; 'We will make deportation parties'

The video of an Indian woman celebrating after her UK visa got approved found its way to the anti-India bloc on social media, who questioned why getting out of India is such a big deal. The video was originally posted on Instagram, where the creator documented how she prepared for Edinburgh after her visa was approved, packing things, cutting a cake with the family members, getting a haircut and then leaving for the airport.

"Getting out of India is such a big deal that they throw parties for when they get visas approved to the West," a MAGA commentator wrote, sharing the Instagram video. The video went viral, with a majority hating on Indians and a handful of people steering clear of the negativity.

"We’ll make deportation parties," one commented. "And yet, as soon as they get here, they can't help but immediately start complaining about how the West doesn't meet their expectations...," a second user wrote.

"Question for actual Indians, is India that terrible of a place?" one asked, contributing to the barrage of hatred for the video.

"They throw a party because they can leave to a better country, more opportunities, more money, better living conditions. And immediately, turn it into the place they celebrated leaving and fly the flag of the country they don't want to live, work or have kids in," one comment read.

"Indian dream is to one day escape," another read.

Some commentators pointed out that it calls for a celebration when one gets accepted to a prestigious university or gets a lucrative job. "I'm American, but if I had gotten either in a foreign country, I might have celebrated too," the person wrote.
