Bristol City fans call for training inquiry after on-loan Stoke City striker Benik Afobe's injury

Bristol City fans have questioned the club's training methods after .

Afobe ruptured his ACL in training, effectively ruling the on-loan Stoke City striker out of action for the rest of the season.

The 26-year-old has been at the Robins for a little over a month, but looked in good form and helped them to fourth in the Championship prior to this big blow.

It continues City's frustrating start to the season in terms of the amount of injuries they are suffering from, with the likes of Tomas Kalas and Adam Nagy also ruled out.

Last season saw the likes of Hakeeb Adelakun and Mo Eisa suffer long-term training ground injuries, and Robins fans are now questioning whether this is down to bad luck or overwork.

Myles: Injuries need to be looked at.

Stephen: I could cry. Absolutely gutted, was looking the part. Up steps Sam Szmodics in a Bobby Reid-type transition.

Ralph Hesp: Is this really just bad luck or are we doing something wrong in training? It's getting daft now.

Levi Da'Lion: Shinji Okazaki is available on a free. Better than nothing!

Trevor Hartnett: Let’s look and see who is available and out of contract.

Liam Howland: If this is true, it's a massive shame but get behind the lads support is important this season.

Gary Luker: We have to start questioning training surely, far too many injuries this early in the season.

Nic Price: I can't believe it, we're so unlucky with injuries at the moment. Afobe is an absolute massive loss.

Liam Humphries: What's going on at the training ground for all these constant injuries? We're pretty much back to square one as far as the season goes.

Nathan Summers: We do seem to pick up a lot of training ground injuries. Incredibly unlucky or more to it?

James Gilmore: There has to be something fundamentally wrong with our training!

GB: Our club will never get anywhere with bad injuries constantly happening. This needs to be looked into. It’s not normal. What’s the point in having good players on good wages if you can barely use them?

Dex: Surely something going wrong behind the scenes? Look at all these long term injuries we are picking up, bit worrying.

Professor R. Niblett: Awful news for player and club - and looked like Benik Afobe was really enjoying his football again. I hope his operation goes well; he could still have a vital part to play towards the end of the season.
