Getting a handle on Google

"According to the filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the company posted a profit of $105.6 million in the year ended Dec 31, 2003, up from $99.7 million a year earlier. The company had revenue of $961.9 million in the recent year, up from $347.8 million in the year-earlier period," says the Wall Street Journal [paid sub req'd].

"Google also revealed other closely guarded secrets, such as how many employees it has. As of March 31, 2004, the filing says, Google had 1,907 employees, consisting of 596 in research and development, 961 in sales and marketing and 350 in general and administrative."
