The Standard, Hua Hin is organising "Sporty And Soaked", an immersive two-day festival that will bring joy on the waves this weekend.

Held in partnership with world-famous surf brand Rip Curl and KBA, this is the resort's second event since its opening early last month and promises a wide range of activities by experts. The seafront retreat will include a surfing master class hosted by Tew Warintorn, one of the country's top surfers and a member of the national surfing team.

He will be on hand to offer expert advice and give amateur surfers the chance to learn all the necessary skills, such as paddling out, picking their break, popping up and riding the waves.

The action will start on the beautiful beachfront lawn with an introduction to surfing and warm-up sessions. Having learned the basics on dry land, guests will be able to practise their newfound techniques on Hua Hin beach which is lapped by endless waves that roll in from the glittering Gulf of Thailand.

Under the "Water Sports Buffet" option, adrenaline addicts will have the chance to take kite-surfing and wing SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) classes, learn the basics of these sports before heading out on the ocean.

Guests will also be able to try their hand at sailing, while jet skis and banana boats are also available for those seeking some high energy fun.

Both action-packed days will conclude with a beachfront party where guests will be able to relax and chill out with DJs spinning upbeat tunes as the Sun sets.

The fee is 2,000 baht for the surfing master class and 4,000 baht for the "Water Sports Buffet".
