Arsenal supporters are calling on their club to sign Joakim Maehle from Atalanta this summer after seeing his assist for Denmark in their Euro 2020 quarter-final with Czech Republic.
The Danish defender, who usually plays as a right-back for his club, has played on the left-hand side of a five-man midfield throughout the European Championships and has been a crucial part in their success so far, scoring twice.
Despite playing on the left, Maehle has continued to impress - most recently, in the quarter-final clash with Czech Republic, where the 24-year-old produced a brilliant outside of the foot delivery with his right boot that found Kasper Dolberg, who netted Denmark's second goal.
Arsenal fans think Maehle could be the answer to Mikel Arteta's problems at right-back. Arteta currently has Calum Chambers, Hector Bellerin and Cedric Soares to choose from in that department, but that could be different by the time the new season comes around.
football.london understands that Bellerin could leave the Gunners this summer, with a move to Spain potentially on the cards for the long-serving defender.

Maehle only joined Atalanta in January of this year, after he signed a four-and-a-half year deal from Genk, so the Italian club are in a strong position in that respect, if any potential suitors do arise.
However, if Arsenal were to make a move for Maehle, then they could face some competition from London rivals Chelsea.
According to Tribal Football, the Blues, as well as Inter Milan, are interested in signing the Atalanta and Denmark star this summer.
Maehle had this to say regarding his future recently: "I have just switched to an insanely good Italian club, so I am sure that I will also play for Atalanta after the European Championships."
