Fullbacks aren’t too prominent in today’s NFL. The demand for the position is at an all-time low, thanks in large part to the passing trends and rule changes that promote teams spacing out the opposition.
The Dolphins? Not only do they have a fullback — they drafted one. Former Auburn Tiger Chandler Cox was the team’s second to last addition during the 2019 NFL Draft — and considering the specific skills he brings to the roster, it’s a pretty safe bet we’ll see Cox suiting up on Sundays this fall.
The Dolphins have put the spotlight on Cox as part of a series videos dedicated to getting to know the team’s 2019 rookie class. Cox did not disappoint. Playing fullback isn’t particularly glamorous and it doesn’t often command a lot of attention, but Cox had a lot of fun in front of the camera.
