Fans of a) drinking and b) looking at lovely views will be very pleased to hear that they can now indulge both of those hobbies at the same time at a new loft bar that opened a few weeks ago on Market Street in Edinburgh.
The Nor Loft - a nod to the Nor Loch that bordered the city until it was drained to create Princes Street Gardens in the early 1800s - is part of the new Market Street Hotel, but it's open to members of the public who are welcome to book a table.
The seventh floor bar has amazing views out across Princes Street - as well as outdoor terraces - and you're basically at eye level with the Scott Monument, so you can watch tourists huff and puff their way up it while you relax with a drink.
As well as serving up plenty of champagne (they serve ten different types by the glass), the high-end bar specialise in cocktails like the "Rob Adam" pictured above, which is named after the iconic Edinburgh architect Robert Adam and combines Monkey Shoulder, French Vermouth and Italian Maraschino.
They do a mean afternoon tea as well, served in a bird cage(!), which you can pair with either a selection of loose leaf artisan teas or their Laurent-Perrier Champagne flight.
