The Great Singapore Sale (GSS) is back. This year's edition, GSS: Experience Singapore, takes place from June 21-July 28 and promises to offer plenty of bargains and a unique Singaporean experience.
The GSS features over 3,500 participating stores with goods ranging from fashion and beauty products to sports equipment, gadgets and furniture.
This year, there will also be many interactive activities to enhance the experience of visitors to the island state. This annual event has been running since 1977. The 2019 edition kicks of on the afternoon of June 21, with the Orchard Road Fashion Scramble, which will feature a grand runway where 300 dancers and models will be flaunting creations by local and international designers.
Also on the famous Orchard Road will be the Great Singapore Street Pop Up, offering alternative shopping and dining experiences. This will run until June 30.
Other highlighted activities on Orchard Road include Great Singapore Stories, featuring works by local filmmakers and musicians, and the Great Furniture Showcase, with exclusive designs and special prices at leading furniture outlets.
From July 5-14, the centre of activities will move to Kampong Glam, a historic Malay enclave. Highlights include cultural talks, various performances and a special fashion show using fabrics from nearby Arab Street.
