'Kodjia + £10m for Joe Lolley, get it done' - Forest and Villa fans debate striker link

A move for Jonathan Kodjia would largely be seen as a positive move by Nottingham Forest supporters - certainly on social media.

The Aston Villa striker has fallen out of favour under Dean Smith, having been restricted to just six Premier League appearances this term.

Despite Villa’s growing injury crisis in attack which saw them play without a recognised frontman in Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final draw at Leicester, the Reds have been linked with a move for the 30-year-old Ivorian – the latest name added to a growing list.

It’s well documented that Forest are keen to strengthen their attacking options this month, with Lewis Grabban the club’s only recognised in-form striker.

Spanish loan man Rafa Mir is the only other striker available to Sabri Lamouchi, and he’s not featured since coming off at half-time in the draw away to Millwall early in December with his return to Wolves likely.

Here’s what fans have been saying – including one cheeky Villa fan suggesting a swap deal for Joe Lolley could be on the cards…

Steve Arnold: If we signed every striker we were looking at so far we'd have an average age of 35 up front..

Villa have previously been keen on Joe Lolley (Joseph Raynor/ Nottingham Post)

Damien Wilkinson: He would be a cracking signing at championship level.

Nick Glover: Think he could do a job!

Glen Page: Good player, But he's Villas only fit striker?
