'Get it done!' - Arsenal supporters send £5m transfer message to Raul Sanllehi and Edu

Rumours linking Arsenal with a move for Le Havre youngster Pape Gueye has prompted a massive response from supporters.

According to reports in France, the Gunners are close to sealing a deal close to €6m (£5m).

The defensive midfielder has less than 18 months on his current deal with the Ligue 2 outfit and this means they risk losing him for nothing in the summer of 2021.

Arsenal transfer window verdict

Should Gueye make the move to north London in the summer transfer window, he would become Mikel Arteta's first permanent signing as Arsenal head coach.

Last month saw the Spaniard bring in two new faces, but both were loan deals.

Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares have joined from Flamengo and Southampton respectively in a bid to bolster the Gunners' defence between now and the end of the season.

But it would appear that the club are making moves behind the scenes to strengthen in the middle of the park.

With Dani Ceballos likely to return to Spain following his season-long loan move from Real Madrid as well as possible speculation over Granit Xhaka starting up again, midfield is an area which could need addressing come the summer.

So, how do Arsenal fans feel about this rumour?

Some have taken to social media and are quite positive and have urged Head of Football Raul Sanllehi and Technical Director Edu to get the deal done.

Gueye is not the only midfielder being linked with a move to Arsenal this summer.

Last week, Turkish Football claimed that the Gunners are set to sign Feyenoord's Orkun Kokcu. The Turkey Under-21 international has been a regular for the Dutch club in the Eredivise this season and is attracting plenty of interest.

According to the report, the Gunners have already started the process of trying to complete the deal, with a £15million transfer fee being reported.
