Sweet-toothed gin aficionados can get into the spirit of the nation's craze for weird and wonderful flavours with the latest offering at one of the country's leading discount stores.

B&M has released a range of dessert-flavoured spirits, including Battenberg cake, Cherry Bakewell Tart and Lemon Drizzle cake, costing just £9.99 for a 50cl bottle.

The Battenberg version has already captured the imagination of gin gurus across the nation, Chronicle Live reports.

Within a matter of hours of going on sale a social media post had attracted more than 5,000 comments from excited shoppers.

Someone posted: "Omg I soooooo need this !!!", and another exclaimed "finally a gin that I'll like!".

The retailer's tempting tipples are among an ever-growing number of outrageous flavours hitting the shelves around the UK, including a Parma Violet variety and Lidl's new colour-changing gin.
