'Get in there!' - Tottenham fans agree after Premier League confirm Nuno Espirito Santo decision

Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo has been named as the Premier League Manager of the Month for August following the club's perfect start to the 2021/22 season.

Spurs are sitting top of the table after the opening three matches - with the north London club winning every one of those games by the same 1-0 scoreline.

Espirito Santo could not have wished for a better start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after wins over Manchester City, Wolves and Watford.

The newly-appointed Tottenham manager fended off competition from Rafa Benitez of Everton, David Moyes of West Ham United and Thomas Tuchel of Chelsea to win the first award of the season.

Spurs supporters, when taking to Twitter following the news, all said the same thing about Nuno picking up the award.

Espirito Santo, when speaking after Tottenham's most recent win against Watford before the international break, played down the fact that Spurs are currently top of the pile in the Premier League.

He said: "That doesn't mean anything at all [being top of the table], that doesn't mean anything.

"I invite everybody, not only the players, but our fans to don't pay attention to that.

"Don't pay attention to that. Let's keep on working, we still have a long way and a lot of aspects to improve on."

Nuno will be determined to keep Spurs' 100 per cent record going when his side make the short trip to south London to face Crystal Palace.

However, the Portuguese coach will be missing plenty of players for various reasons for the clash at Selhust Park.

Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez will all be missing as they need to follow Covid-19 protocols after playing for their countries in the international break.

Meanwhile, Son Heung-min is a doubt after suffering a calf problem for South Korea.
