'Get him in!' - What Arsenal supporters said about Chris Wilder following Sheffield United loss

Arsenal have been told to forget about appointing Jose Mourinho should they make the decision to part company with Unai Emery.

Pressure is increasing on the Gunners head coach following yet another disappointing result and performance at the weekend.

Despite taking the lead - against the run of play - thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 50th goal for the club, the north London outfit were pegged back in the second half by Wolves and were perhaps rather fortunate to avoid defeat.

Boos rung out around the Emirates Stadium at the final whistle and there have been even more calls for Emery to be sacked amongst the fanbase who are running out of patience with the Spaniard.

The past week has been dominated by talk of Mourinho replacing Emery, but another name has been thrown into the hat.

Pundit Tony Cascarino has suggested Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder as a potential replacement for Emery.

"Man United job, Arsenal job - Chris Wilder? Absolutely," Cascarino told talkSPORT. "There would be a snobbery around football that would go for Allegri or Mourinho. But I'm like, 'No, I'd rather go with Chris Wilder.'

"He knows football, he's a proper football person. Like Sir Alex Ferguson, Jurgen Klopp at Mainz, Pep Guardiola at Barcelona B - he's shown what he can do.

"I believe there are managers in lower league football who are very gifted and deserve an opportunity. Chris has gone through the whole lot."

Whilst Cascarino's comments have taken many by surprise, that's not the case for some Arsenal fans.

In fact, following the Gunners 1-0 loss at Bramall Lane last month there were calls for Wilder to replace Emery.
