Get a sneak peek as Bar Beyond becomes The Wonder Bar in The Gate

It's name suggests great things and it won't be long until we find out if The WonderBar does indeed live up to its title.

The very grand sounding new haunt will take the place of not just one, but two bars in Newcastle's famous complex The Gate.

Both Bar Beyond and Opera Bar closed their doors for a final time earlier this year and ever since then, work has been going on behind the scenes to transform them into, what owners are billing as a 'new super venue'.

The Wonder Bar is set to welcome revellers from early November with lots of things in the pipeline.

10 pubs and clubs in Newcastle that we’d love to come back

A teaser declares that The WonderBar "will be like no other bar in Newcastle," saying "from DJs to darts, big screens to Bavarian Stompers, comedy to cocktails- this bar has it ALL!"

As you can see from the sneak peak above, darts will be a big theme in the bar and as for 'cocktails, sliders and burgers'...we're in!

The venue is owned by local businessman John Adamson, who also has Colonel Porter's on Dean Street in Newcastle as well as Ramside Hall in Durham and Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield.

The release on the new venue concludes "It's a one stop Wonderland, where wonders never cease!

"Newcastle has been crying out for a super bar... well the wait is almost over."
