Get a free drink in the pub every week in October with new scheme

Pubs across the country are offering people their customers a free drink each week in October - with everything from beer to wine to G&Ts or J2Os included.

It's all part of a new ‘Here’s to the Pub’ initiative - designed to celebrate the great British boozer.

Nick Light, from pub group Ei Publican Partnerships, said: “It’s more important than ever that we support our local pubs in the new ‘normal’ to help the industry to get back on its feet."

He added: “To encourage people back in, we’re running our largest ever initiative and offering pub goers their first drink for free every week in October.”

More than 1,250 pubs across the UK are signed up to the ‘Here’s to the Pub’ campaign.

To claim your drinks, visit  www.great-british-pubs.co.uk  , register on the app, choose your pub, and follow the instructions the redeem your drink when you’re there – before 10pm of course.

There are 30 drinks to choose from - including Heineken, John Smiths Strongbow Dark Fruit, Budweiser, Rekorderlig, Heineken 0.0, Gordon’s Gin and Tonic, J20 and Pepsi.

“There have been many missed moments over the last few months that would have been spent in the pub," Light said.

"From birthdays and anniversaries to first dates and bank holidays.

“With the curfew and clear guidance on table service and PPE in place, publicans and their teams are continuing to work tirelessly to create safe and sustainable environments so we can get back to enjoying these moments in the pub."
