Gervane Kastaneer hints Hearts transfer history helped Robbie Neilson seal bid as he salutes club

Gervane Kastaneer reckons the success of past Dutch Hearts stars gives him a good feeling about what he can add to the club.

The 25-year-old wideman has signed on loan until the end of the season from English Championship side Coventry City.

He replaces winger Josh Ginnelly, who had impressed at Tynecastle in his loan spell from Preston but has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The Dutch-born Curacao international is delighted to have joined what he describes as "a very, very big club" and admits he couldn't say no to a move to Edinburgh.

Speaking to Hearts TV, he said: “It feels nice to be here. I’m very happy to be here and ready to start.

“It’s a very, very big club with a very nice history. Of course, a lot of Dutch players have played here.

“Mark de Vries, (Genero) Zeefuik. It’s a good history for Dutch people here and I want to continue that here. Hopefully I will do that.

“For me, it’s a big club and no one will say no to Hearts, I think.”
