Gerry Ryan's daughter Lottie explains why he would've found life tough today

The daughter of legendary broadcaster Gerry Ryan has told how he would have found today's PC world tough.

Lottie Ryan, 32, whose popular dad Gerry passed away suddenly in April 2010, feared his controversial nature would have landed him in "a whole load of "s**t".

The TV presenter believes the rise in social media would've got her father in trouble.

Speaking at the VIP Style Awards last Friday, she said: "I've often thought about it. When he was around, we didn't have Twitter and Facebook.

"I think he would have found it tough today with the way things are. I'm sure he would have gotten into a whole load of s**t because he loved being controversial and getting himself in trouble."

Her dad's voice was nationally recognised, as he hosted The Gerry Ryan Show on RTE 2FM for over 22 years.

And she admitted that she often plays tapes of her dad speaking.

She told the Independent: "Sometimes I have him on in the car and I get self-conscious if I've the window down that people will be looking over at me in traffic going 'what is she on?'"
