Gerry Flynn 'jumps on the Larne bandwagon' in funny video post

Former Irish League player and manager Gerry Flynn has shown his support for Larne in a comical social media video.

Flynn shared his thoughts ahead of Wednesday night's big Co Antrim Shield final between the Invermen and Glentoran.

Flynn joked that he was "jumping on the Larne FC bandwagon" by joining the likes of Jack Grealish and Michael van Gerwen in showing support to Tiernan Lynch's side.

Aston Villa star Grealish and darts star Van Gerwen are just two sporting figures who have sent their own good luck video messages to the club.

Some rival fans have mocked Larne and owner Kenny Bruce for enlisting the support of such high-profile stars.

But in his own video, Flynn - who wears a Larne FC protective mask at the start - tells the ones giving Bruce stick to "wind your neck in, lads".

Flynn adds: "He's doing great by his town, his team and also lifting the profile of the Irish League."

Flynn then jokes that Bruce paid him £20,000 for the video, '£10,000 more than the others', because he's the only one who has scored a goal in the Champions League.

That came when Flynn played for Cliftonville in a first round qualifying tie against FC Kosice in 1997.

Flynn ends the video by saying: "Lads, life's too short for all that negative stuff on Twitter and Facebook. get behind to whatever team you support tonight.

"Good luck to the Glens, hopefully Mad Mick turns up for it."
