Gerry Cinnamon postpones headline show in Glasgow this summer

Gerry Cinnamon's upcoming Glasgow show has been postponed in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Castlemilk singer-songwriter was due to perform a massive headline show at Hampden Park on July 18.

The show has now been moved to July 17, 2021.

His shows in Cork, Belfast and Dublin have also been pushed back a year.

Speaking after the announcement, Gerry said: “Anyone that know me knows all I care about is folk having a class night and getting home safe."

He described the decision to move dates as "a no brainer" that "pales in comparison to the s*** other folk are going through."

On Friday, Gerry thanked fans for making his second album ' The Bonny’ Number 1 in the Official Album Charts in the UK and Ireland.

The Glaswegian artist reached the landmark after keeping to his word to deliver his record for fans at this difficult time - and they responded.

Gerry posted: “Numbers mean nothing to me. Folk blasting the tunes and singing them like they mean it means everything. Had my back since day one.

"Only reason I stayed in this game. Shout out to all frontline staff.  Suns out. Look after the oldies. Cheers”

The announcement follows news that TRNSMT 2020 and Green Day's show at Glasgow Green will also not go ahead this summer.
