Gerry Cinnamon at Hampden in July 2020 postponed due to coronavirus

Gerry Cinnamon has had to postpone his much-anticipated Hampden Park gig until next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Scots sensation became the first unsigned act to ever sell out the national stadium in Glasgow after shifting 50,000 tickets in just four hours in November last year.

The gig was meant to take place on July 18 2020.

But fans will now have to wait until July 17 2021 to see the 35-year-old after he took the decision to reschedule all his Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish shows.

Alongside his hometown gig, sold out concerts in Cork, Dublin and Belfast will not go ahead this year.

Gerry described the decision as a "no brainer" while saying it "pales in comparison to the s**t other folk are going through."

He added: "Anyone that know me knows all I care about is folk having a class night and getting home safe."

It comes after Gerry's second album The Bonny rocketed to Number 1 in the Official Album Charts in the UK and Ireland earlier this month.

The Belter hit-maker released the record during the Covid-19 outbreak after keeping his word to his fans.

Gerry spoke in March about how the crisis meant it was probably not the best time to bring out new material - but he didn't 'give a f*** about numbers' and wanted to come up with the goods for his army of followers.

He posted on social media at the time: "Numbers mean nothing to me. Folk blasting the tunes and singing them like they mean it means everything. Had my back since day one.

"Only reason I stayed in this game. Shout out to all frontline staff. Suns out. Look after the oldies. Cheers".
