Gerrit Cole blocked World Series flasher Julia Rose on Twitter after her Game 5 stunt

The 2019 World Series is over. The Washington Nationals are champions. And Gerrit Cole heads into free agency without a ring but plenty of pettiness.

That was evident when he wore a Boras Corp hat literal minutes after his team lost Game 7 of the World Series. But it didn’t stop there for the star pitcher.

Back in Game 5, Cole was on the mound when Shagmag founder Julia Rose lifted her shirt and flashed the Astros pitcher from her seats behind home plate. Cole called time and didn’t throw a pitch until Rose and brand executive Lauren Summer were escorted out of the section.

The World Series flashing predictably went viral, but on Wednesday, Rose found out just how upset Cole was about the $80,000 publicity stunt. He blocked Rose on Twitter.

Hours after Game 5, Rose tweeted a video of the flashing stunt at Cole and wrote, “I just wanted your attention.” That likely prompted the Astros pitcher to hit the block button.

In an interview with Complex, Rose claimed that she made direct eye contact with Cole before the pitcher called time.

Complex: Gerrit Cole for sure saw you guys, right? Because you couldn’t really tell on TV.

Rose: For sure. We made eye contact for sure.

Rose, who has been indefinitely banned from MLB stadiums and facilities for the stunt, celebrated the Nationals’ World Series win by flashing her television.
