Rangers do not expect to appoint a new manager before the end of the week.
As reported by the Rangers Review, the process to hire a permanent successor to Philippe Clement has been stepped up after the season ended at the weekend.
It is believed that several candidates are being spoken to, but that there is no preferred option as of yet.

Patrick Stewart, the chief executive officer, sporting director Kevin Thelwell and 49ers Enterprises technical director Gretar Steinsson are said to be leading the search.
Steven Gerrard, who spent over three years in charge of Rangers between 2018 and 2021, has held initial talks over a return. He could find himself in a head-to-head battle for the hotseat with Davide Ancelotti, son of legendary Real Madrid manager Carlo.
Russell Martin's name has been mentioned in connection with the job, but he appears set to take over from Ruud van Nistelrooy at Leicester City ahead of the new season.
Sean Dyche, Gary O'Neil and Rob Edwards have also been linked.
A decision over the top choice for the position is now said to be expected in the coming days.
"The search for our new head coach is progressing well, and we look forward to concluding our process in the coming period," said CEO Stewart regarding the hunt for a new boss last week.
Rangers ended their season with a 2-2 draw against Hibernian on Saturday.
