Germany up interest in Borussia Monchengladbach’s Ireland youth cap Conor Noss

Germany have upped their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach’s Ireland youth cap Conor Noss.

The Dusseldorf-born attacker – in the squad for tonight’s Bundesliga clash against SC Freiburg – admits making his Ireland debut last year drew his attention of his homeland.

Noss has his sights set firmly on progressing into Ireland’s under-21s later this year under new boss Jim Crawford.

He declared for Ireland last year through his Donaghmede-born mother.

“I think the future for the Ireland squad is very bright,” said Noss, who played for Tom Mohan’s under-19s in last November’s Euro qualifiers.

“The German FA contacted my club’s under-23 coach once I started playing for Ireland but I didn’t respond to them.”
