Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka urged UEFA to "spread love" after scoring the equaliser which set up a mouth-watering last-16 clash with England.
Goretzka, 26, pounced on a loose ball in the box to net in the 84th minute against Hungary, marking the second time Germany came from behind on their way to a 2-2 draw.
The result saw Die Mannschaft finish second in Euro 2020 Group F, meaning they will face Group D-winning England in the last 16.
There was some controversy heading into Germany's contest versus Hungary, as UEFA denied a request to light up the Allianz Arena in the colours of the rainbow.
The Munich council wanted to show solidarity with members of the LGBT community in Hungary, who face discriminatory legislation.
Hungarian MPs recently passed a bill banning the depiction or promotion of homosexuality to children and were subsequently condemned by Germany and 13 other EU nations.
Although the Allianz Arena did not carry rainbow colours for Wednesday night's fixture, thousands of fans in attendance arrived carrying rainbow flags.
A pitch invader even brandished one such flag in front of Hungary players during the country's national anthem.
And after scoring his vital goal, Goretzka took to Twitter to post a rainbow flag and write: "Spread Love. Yes! Wembley calling!"
The Bayern Munich star also made a point of celebrating his goal by forming a heart with his hands.
Goretzka was less upbeat as he reflected on side's performance, as Germany conceded again just moments after hauling themselves level in the 66th minute.
He told Munich-based outlet Tz : " Today’s game was very, very difficult. There was a lot of resistance that we had to face.

"But it’s great that we made it in front of a home crowd. What shouldn’t happen is the situation after the 1-1 draw.
"We weren’t awake enough from the head. You draw even and 15 seconds after that it’s 1-2, that shouldn’t be."
Nonetheless, Goretzka was delighted to score his 14th goal for his country and added: "Of course I’m over the moon.
"You could tell that it was getting tight. The ball falls at my feet - and then just put it in."
Meanwhile, Germany boss Joachim Low declared he is relishing the opportunity to take on England at the home of football.
"It's great news to be playing in London at Wembley against England," he said. "It's a totally different match. Hungary parked the bus and had everyone behind the ball.
"Against England, it will be totally different. They like to attack, so it's gong to be an open match. We're looking forward to it."
