Germany says it is pushing for battery cell production in Germany

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany is pushing for battery cell production to be set up in Europe's biggest economy, the German Economy Ministry said in a statement following a meeting of members of the European Battery Alliance in Brussels.

Germany has stressed that it is important for Europe to play a role in the manufacture of battery cells, a key battleground in the automotive industry as it shifts to electric mobility.
