Lufthansa’s advert for Euro 2016 has poked fun at England’s supporters ahead of this summer’s tournament in France.

The advert begins with two well-dressed supporters sporting England scarves as they wait in the departure lounge of an airport.

“Flight’s cancelled,” says one. “They’ve rebooked us on … Lufthansa.”

“Lufthansa?” replies the other. “We’re flying with the Germans?!”

The younger man is then shown seated on the plane in front of a traditional Bavarian “oompah band” and a young supporter in a Germany shirt who brandishes four fingers – perhaps in reference to Germany’s 4-1 victory over England at the 2010 World Cup or possibly their four World Cup wins.

But he soon realises it has all just been a bad dream as he awakes to be served a meal and a cold beer by the flight attendant, although the young Germany fan is still taunting him from the seat behind.
