German police seize massive haul of 'Trump' ecstasy tablets

Donald Trump does not make everyone feel ecstatic.

But police in Germany say they have found a stash of around 5,000 bright orange ecstasy tablets shaped in the head of the US President.

The pills were said to have a street value of around $46,000.

The Associated Press said police in Osnabrueck, in northwestern Germany, discovered the drugs while checking an Austrian-registered Peugeot 307 hatchback on the A30 highway on Saturday.

Police said the people in the car, a 51-year-old man and his 17-year-old son, told officers they had been in the Netherlands to buy a vehicle but had not succeeded so were returning home. Officers said they also found a large, unspecified quantity of cash.

“Officials found 5000 Ecstasy Tablets, with the portrait of the American President Donald J Trump,” said the police statement. “In addition, a large amount of cash has also been secured.”

A judge on Sunday ordered that the the father and son kept in custody. The car was seized and towed away.
