German couple tortured and murdered two women in their 'House of Horrors', say police

A German couple used personal adverts to lure women to their rural home where they tortured and killed at least two, authorities claim.

Investigating officers say they have not ruled out further deaths at the property, dubbed the 'house of horrors', where a woman's body was allegedly cut up and burned in a fireplace.

Police have arrested a 46-year-old man, identified only as Wilfred W,  and his 47-year-old ex-wife, known as Angelika B last week.

The pair are accused of tormenting a woman through nearly two months of captivity at a property in home in Hoexter, north west Germany.

Police said the couple were "caught" after their car broke down with a severely wounded 41-year-old woman inside. She died later in hospital from a head injury.

The second alleged victim was 33-year-old woman whose body was stored in a deep-freezer before being dismembered and burned in a fireplace - according to the police.

Bielefeld Chief of Homicide Division, Ralf Oestermann told reporters "We are looking for more victims" that survived, AFP reports.

Mr Oestermann said Angelika B had admitted to at least one killing while Wilfred W has denied any guilt.

The pair married in 1999, filing for divorce in 2013 - the same year Wilfred W married the 33-year-old woman who later died, Oestermann added.
