German charity provokes online storm with 'sexy' first aid video

A German charity has left Facebook users a little short of breath after releasing a "sexy" video guide to first aid.

In the video the "First Aid Ladies" demonstrate how to perform mouth-to-mouth, administer CPR and even how to use a defibrillator, while wearing very little and all to the strains of pop music hits such as Taylor Swift's 'Shake it Off' and Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines'.

The charity, the Workers' Samaritan Federation, posted the video on its Facebook page where it has been viewed more than 1.2 million times.

"Relatively few people in Germany [know how to] provide first aid," the charity wrote.

"We want to remedy that and have come up with a completely new way to spread the life-saving message as far as possible."

Facebook users have posted a range of comments about the eye-catching video, some appreciative while other accuse the charity of sexism.

"How many women were involved in coming up with this?" one user asked.
