- A 26-year-old German backpacker, Carolina Wilga, who had been missing for nearly two weeks in remote Western Australia, has been found alive.
- Western Australia police confirmed Ms Wilga was "safe and well" after she was picked up by a member of the public.
- She was found near Beacon, a small town approximately 200 miles northeast of Perth, on Friday afternoon.
- Ms Wilga was last seen on 29 June at a general store, and her van was later discovered abandoned on the edge of a remote nature reserve.
- Police had deployed helicopters and planes in the extensive search for Ms Wilga, whose family had expressed significant concern.
