Germain Ifedi’s brother activated by AAF’s Memphis Express

Martin Ifedi, a former seventh round pick of the Los Angeles Rams and the older brother of Seattle Seahawks right tackle Germain Ifedi, has been activated off the injured reserve for the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football league.

The older Ifedi played on the defensive line at the University of Memphis before he was selected in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Rams. He bounced around between the Rams, Falcons and Buccaneers practice squads, before getting cut in April of last season.

He eventually ended up with the Memphis Express in the fledgling AAF league, but was placed in their reserved/injury list – where he was activated on Wednesday.

Fans of Ifedi will get to see the 27-year-old in action for the first time since he was drafted. Ifedi was a two-time All-AAC first teamer while at Memphis, but his lack of burst hurt his chances of being a successful NFL player.

Perhaps a run through the AAF, in his college town no less, will help Ifedi finds his way back into the league alongside his brother.
