The Seattle Seahawks listed six players as questionable for Sunday’s Week 8 contest against the Atlanta Falcons, including their two starting tackles – Germain Ifedi and Duane Brown.
Brown practiced in full on Friday however, and while that doesn’t guarantee that he will play it does indicate positive progression for the veteran.
Ifedi did not practice at all on Thursday or Friday, after suffering what coach Pete Carroll called a tweaked knee during a walk-through.
Carroll said Ifedi, like the other questionable guys, will be a gametime decision.
“We’ll make sure on gameday that he’s alright,” Carroll said. “Nothing serious, he did it in actual walk-through tempo, he just caught something and we wanted to make sure we’re doing the right thing and taking care of him.”
Ifedi’s absence would likely force Jamarco Jones, who has played right guard in each of the last three games, to shift over to his more natural spot at right tackle. Fortunately for Seattle, D.J. Fluker, the team’s Week 1 starter at right guard, is 100 percent healthy and ready to return to his starting role.
Jones looked good at right guard, potentially good enough to take the starting job from Fluker, but if Ifedi is out on Sunday that competition will have to wait another week.
Of course, if Jones looks good at right tackle, there is the possibility that he makes things interesting at that spot when Ifedi is able to return.
The final inactive report will come out roughly 90 minutes before the game on Sunday, which is set to kick off at 10:00 a.m. PT.
