Geri Horner gushes Mel C is a 'wonderful Spice Sister' in 47th birthday tribute

Geri Horner gushed over her "wonderful Spice Sister" Mel C in a glowing tribute to mark the star's 47th birthday.

Ginger Spice celebrated her former bandmate's birthday with a sweet message on Twitter on Tuesday.

They formed a close bond years ago in the band and they've remained good pals.

The singing sensation, 48, was delighted to tell her friend she was "so proud" of her, "wishing you so much joy, love and success".

Accompanied with the moving message, Geri posted four throwbacks of the pair together.

Lovely photographs included the duo singing on stage, dancing, cuddling and posing for the camera.

She wrote: "It’s your bday! Happy birthday @MelanieCmusic. A wonderful spice sister.

"So proud of you. Wishing you so much joy, love & success."

She added the praying hands emoji to her message.

Geri and Mel C joined Victoria Beckham, Mel B and Emma Bunton to make up the Spice Girls.

The five-piece group took the world by storm after their debut in 1994.

In 2019, they reunited for the group's anniversary for a tour without fashion icon and royalty Victoria.

Recently, Mel B lifted the lid on the plans to reunite Spice Girls again once the rules allow it after the coronavirus pandemic.

She told The Mirror: "People need a bit of entertainment. Music brings people together. I would love it - as soon as the rules allow it, then yeah.

"Until the virus gets under control I don't think anyone can securely say "I'm definitely going on tour". When it comes to putting on a show or concert, I don't know how people are going to do it without the proper guidelines and information, because things change on a weekly basis.

"Us lot are definitely up for it - it's just a case of timings and safety. I'm always itching to get back on to the stage."
