Gerard Deulofeu happy at Watford amid interest from AC Milan

Watford have been given a boost in their hopes of keeping Gerard Deulofeu this summer after the Spaniard said he feels at home at the club.

The forward shone for the Hornets last season as they reached the FA Cup final, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 12 goals.

Deulofeu is attracting interest from clubs in Europe as a result, specifically AC Milan, but there is growing confidence at Watford that he will stay put this summer.

And the 25-year-old has added to that belief by revealing how settled he currently is at Vicarage Road.

“In the all teams where I have been I didn’t stay for a lot of time, so every time I travel to Milan, Everton, Sevilla, Barcelona,” said Deulofeu.

“Now I feel comfortable here. The first season I suffered a little bit but finally I adapted to Watford and I enjoy it here.

“I scored a lot of goals to help the team last season. I hope this season I score more than 12 goals because I can score more. I feel the type of player like me, I can score more goals.

“But the best thing is to help the team take three points and to achieve something special with Watford.”
