Gerard Deulofeu is a serious doubt for Everton’s Premier League home game against Watford this weekend, according to his manager Roberto Martínez.
The 21-year-old, who spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Goodison Park from Barcelona before signing for £4.2m in June, injured a hamstring at the Asia Trophy tournament in Singapore last month.
Martínez said: “He’s already working at 60%, so I don’t expect him to be too far away. Maybe the weekend will be too early for him.”
Everton also have doubts about another winger, Kevin Mirallas, and the England defender John Stones for Saturday’s match after both were injured during the testimonial game for the club’s former striker Duncan Ferguson.
