Gérard Depardieu's in-flight mishap

Ah, the glamma of air travel! By now you'll be aware that French actor Gérard Depardieu's request to urinate as his CityJet flight was taxiing was refused this week, sparking a complex train of events that would ultimately lead to his ejection from the craft and a tweet from the airline reading: "As you may have seen, we are busy mopping the floor of one of our planes ... "

Lost in Showbiz could never stay angry with the inimitable Gerard for very long, given his life story is a slightly more lunatic version of that Dr Evil speech in Austin Powers. (You know the one: "My mother was a 15-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanise; he would drink. He would make outrageous claims, like he invented the question mark ... ") As for City Jet's official slogan – "the end to uncivilised travel" – that would now appear to need tweaking for trading standards purposes. How about "Many of our passengers are housebroken"?
