Gerard Butler stuns his fans with epic Superman flying video

Gerard Butler has lifted the spirits of his fans by posting an epic video of him 'flying over water'.

The Hollywood hunk took to Instagram to share the lighthearted video of his take on Superman as he appeared to glide across the water.

Posting the video, which has had over 60,000 likes, the actor from Paisley said: "We all need a little bit of Superman to get through these trying times. This is me flying by the seat of my pants."

And his fans were absolutely loving his video, with many saying it was exactly what they needed.

The Hollywood actor posted the funny video on Instagram (Instagram)

One said: "Okay so this just totally made my day."

While another wrote: "Thanks for the chuckle. Keep that inner kid in you alive."

And one added: "The only thing that is missing is the tights and cape! I much prefer your superman over the original".

"Thank you, I needed a laugh today", another wrote.

Just last month, the Scots actor revealed that he almost quit Hollywood for good after he struggled to come back from a  nasty motorbike crash.

The hunk, who is originally from  Paisley, spoke out recently saying he nearly gave up acting after the accident in 2017 which left him with five fractured bones in his right foot, a microfracture in each foot, a pinched nerve and a bruised bone, and injuries to his ankle and both knees.

Butler 50, was riding his motorbike in Los Angeles when a female driver ploughed into him and sent him flying through the air.

Speaking to Australian news outlet  News.com  the actor said: "During this last three years I’ve had a bunch of stuff going on health-wise, that at one point made me reconsider my whole career.

“I had a surgery that went wrong, which then became seven surgeries. I had a motorcycle accident that almost killed me and I suddenly thought, ‘There has to be something more.’

“I thought, ‘Am I only going to leave my movies behind?’

He added: “My movies are not for everybody, but the people who like them get moved and inspired by them, will hopefully come out of watching them thinking, ‘I want to be like that guy,’ the way I did as a child growing up watching movies.

“But at the same time, there comes a point where you go, ‘Is that it? Is there something more that’s part of my journey?’

“The things I’ve been through, not as an actor but as a person, make me think about a different kind of impact I could leave behind.

“So it’s started me on a full-blown quest, which I’m in the middle of right now.”

According to court documents, Gerard has accused the driver of “negligently pulling her vehicle off the curb” before “cutting across lanes of traffic directly in front of him” in her 2016 Mercedes Benz.
