Meerschaert on the fight’s key moment

“I felt a lot stronger in there. Trevin Giles is a super tough opponent. I was surprised he was willing to grapple with me as much. He was really good on top, but I’m a really crafty black belt.”

Meerschaert on getting back in the win column

“It feels amazing to get the win and the finish. I’ll say it until I’m blue in the face, but I felt I won my last fight. Again, it’s my job to finish and I didn’t. In that way I lost last time. This time, I got the finish against, in my opinion, an even tougher opponent.”

Meerschaert on what he wants next

“I’m a realist. I’m not in a position to call anyone out. Whoever they want to give me, I’m ready for.”
