Gerald Green out against Bucks with left abductor strain

Rockets guard Gerald Green is listed as out tomorrow night against the Milwaukee Bucks with a left abductor strain.

Green has been an essential contributor off the bench for the Rockets all season, playing 20.6 minutes per game and providing adequate floor spacing (35.2% from three-point range). Surprisingly enough, the Rockets have been fairly consistent defensively with Green on the floor this season (0.7 points per 100 possessions better).

Earlier in the season, an absence like this would’ve been devastating for the Rockets as they were struggling to find quality depth. However, as of late the Rockets have had a surplus of players to work with. With the amount of depth Houston has amassed over the course of the season, players like Austin Rivers and Kenneth Faried have struggled to see the floor.

Eric Gordon is also listed as questionable for tomorrow with a right ankle sprain, so tomorrow might provide an opportunity for players like Rivers and Faried to see some quality time.

“I want to keep everybody alive,” head coach Mike D’Antoni said of Houston’s rotation at Saturday’s practice. “You never know who comes up with an (injury) and we have to go one other guy. I feel comfortable with rotating nine guys. We just don’t know who those nine are.”
