Gerald Green, Danuel House Jr. will return to Rockets on new deals

It’s day one of the NBA’s free agency period and there’s already been some huge news around the league: Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will team up in Brooklyn.

While Durant was the first huge domino to fall, fans everywhere are still waiting on news from guys like Kawhi Leonard, and of larger interest to the Rockets, Jimmy Butler, who has been rumored to be considering the Rockets in what would be a sign-and-trade deal.

What we do know on the Rockets front is that the team has brought back both Gerald Green and Danuel House for next season on one-year and three-year deals, respectively.

Green played 73 games for the Rockets last season shooting 35 percent from deep. He has the energy and athleticism that the team likes and, considering that he’s from the Houston area, it was an easy decision for Green to return.

House played for his third team in as many years this past season with the Rockets, and has finally found a home with the team shooting 41 percent from deep in the 36 games he played with the team. House’s size allows him to defend multiple positions, a kind of versatility that head coach Mike D’Antoni has always loved.
