Celtic are close to completing the transfer of Giorgios Giakoumakis following successful negotiations in the Netherlands this week.
VVV-Venlo will receive a guaranteed fee of £2.1million for Greek international with a further £428,000 of performance-related variables included in the deal.
Giakoumakis, the Eredivisie's leading scorer last season, is understood to have reached an agreement in principle on the terms of a four-year contract ahead of Celtic 's successful Europa League play-off tie with Alkmaar.
The Scottish Premiership club has been working on arranging a medical and a work permit for the 26-year-old. The transfer agreement entitles VVV to a percentage of the striker's next transfer fee.

Giakoumakis, an accomplished finisher off either foot who excels in aerial duels, scored 26 times in 30 league appearances for a VVV side that eventually finished second bottom of the Eredivisie.
His proficiency in front of the net saw him deliver seven more goals than the division's second highest scorer, Donyell Malen, who PSV have since sold to Borussia Dortmund for €30m.
The Greek chose Celtic ahead of Werder Bremen and a proposal from the Qatar Stars League.
Both options would have seen Giakoumakis receive a higher net salary than in Scotland.
