Georgia WR breaks hand, out several weeks, per Kirby Smart

Georgia started its season off with a 30-6 SEC road win against Vanderbilt Saturday, but it came with a price.

During his Monday press conference, Kirby Smart stated that redshirt freshman wide receiver Kearis Jackson will miss several weeks multiple broken bones in his hand.

“He’s got a couple of different breaks,” Smart said. “So he’s going to be out for awhile.”

Jackson’s injury came in the fourth quarter after reeling in a 32 yard pass from Jake Fromm. He took a nice shot from a Vanderbilt linebacker, causing both the injury a fumble.

That was one of Jackson’s two catches on Saturday, with the other one going for -1 yards.

Expect more playing time from 5-star freshman Dominick Blaylock during Jackson’s absence.
