Georgia (4-0) vs. Tennessee (1-3) Game Preview
Why Georgia Will Win
Tennessee just doesn’t have the offense.
The quarterback situation is a concern, but it’s not all Jarrett Guarantano’s fault. The line isn’t doing him any favors, and the running game isn’t strong enough to help the cause.
Guarantano has been okay, freshman Brian Maurer has only hit four of his 13 attempts so far, and J.T. Shrout, well …

The Tennessee defense hasn’t done enough to get into the backfield and bother anyone, and now it has to find a way to come up with something special against one of the nation’s best offensive lines.
Georgia leads all SEC teams with the fewest tackles for loss allowed, and the pass protection has been terrific so far. Tennessee isn’t getting to RB D’Andre Swift and company before they’ve had time to move.
There’s no reason to make this too difficult. Georgia needs to start running, keep pounding, expect Jake Fromm to be Jake Fromm, don’t take any chances, and rely on the defense. However …
Why Tennessee Will Win
There’s a chance Georgia does all of that, doesn’t push things, and manages to keep both teams in the game.
Vanderbilt got wiped up in the opening weekend 30-6 loss to the Dawgs, but they didn’t come up with a scintillating performance – the chances were there for the Commodores, but they weren’t able to take them.
Notre Dame is good, and it was able to make it a tight battle in Athens, but Georgia also didn’t turn it loose.
The Tennessee defense isn’t a brick wall, but it’s good enough to not get destroyed. It held up just fine against the Florida ground game, and on the year it’s allowing fewer than four yards per carry. Overall, the D is giving up just 340 yards per game – it’ll have to hold up and hope the O can do something to carry its weight.

What’s Going To Happen
It won’t be anything scintillating. The Bulldogs will overcome an early Tennessee touchdown by grinding away in a brutally efficient manner. The Vol D will do what it can to keep this from getting ugly, but the offense will have way too many stalled drives.
